About Dr. Chokan

Dr. Chokan is a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine. He is a podiatric surgeon, Board Certified in Foot Surgery and Board Qualified in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a Diplomat of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is an adjunct faculty member and the Alumni Chairman at the Kent State University, College of Podiatric Medicine.

Dr. Chokan graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine (now the Kent State University, College of Podiatric Medicine) in 2001. He completed his residency as chief resident at University Hospitals and Cleveland Clinic Facilities from 2001-2003. He has been in practice for 11 years and has been owner/founder of Ohio Foot and Ankle Center since starting the company in Green, Ohio in 2004. From there he expanded the office to a bi-county full service podiatric surgical corporation in Stark and Summit counties in November 2004, forming a conglomerate of offices along I-77. Expansion into Cuyahoga Falls took place in September 2007, increasing the number of office locations to four, located in Stow, Green, Fairlawn and Canton. His group of doctors are all surgically trained and well respected in the community. Dr. Chokan has spoken at many Podiatry Seminars and also currently serves on the Speakers Bureau for a wound care company, and as a Certified Wound Specialist, has the highest rate of wound healing at St. Thomas Wound Care Center. He has created a Revisional Reconstructive Surgical Institute that will partner with Ohio Foot and Ankle Center .

Dr. Chokan works closely with the St. Vincent Charity Hospital Podiatric Residency program and serves on the teaching faculty. He also gives his office time to train residents of the Family Practice Residency Program from Akron City Hospital. He is currently on staff at 8 local hospitals extending from Ravenna to Massillon. He is certified to perform Total Ankle Joint Replacements and has been performing these for the past 2 years.

Chokan FamilyDr. Chokan is blessed to have 5 beautiful children with his amazing wife who are busy in and out of the office. He has twin boys and three girls and enjoys coaching their baseball and basketball teams. Dr. Chokan was a nationally ranked tennis player for the College of Wooster and continues to stay active with his children. He enjoys golfing, reading, playing tennis, and running and loves playing a mean game of four-square with his kids.
